Assessment of a representative of the creative profession requires a special approach. An accurate picture of the knowledge, skills and abilities of a designer cannot be obtained using a universal test. In addition, there is no consensus on what good design is and how to define it.

Instructions

Step 1

Explore the designer's portfolio. An experienced specialist should have a lot of successful work that can make a favorable impression on a potential customer. Pay attention to the contents of the portfolio: it is advisable that it contains examples of work done in different styles. Think if you like them, would you like to collaborate with their author or not.

Step 2

Find out how successful the designer's previous projects have been. It happens, for example, that a very original and interesting design does not fulfill its main task: attracting visitors, increasing sales, etc. A beautiful picture is worthless if the goal for which it was created is not achieved.

Step 3

Pay attention to the feedback from previous clients of the designer about his work. Not only positive, but also negative reviews matter. Try to be objective: it happens that a designer receives criticism from customers unfairly. Most often this happens due to a misunderstanding between the client and the contractor, when the client cannot clearly articulate what exactly he wants. If you have acquaintances who have previously dealt with the designer you are interested in, ask them about the quality of his work, the peculiarities of order fulfillment, etc.

Step 4

Find out the cost of the designer's work. As a rule, only beginners and insecure people who think that they are unable to do their job well are valued too cheaply. If quality is more important to you than economy, be sure to pay attention to this fact. It is better to hire an experienced specialist who adequately evaluates his work and will be able to do the job efficiently than to choose a more profitable option and end up with something completely different from what you need.

Step 5

Pay attention to the personality traits of the designer. If during the interview he demonstrates arrogance, rudeness, arrogance, behaves aggressively, then it will probably be difficult to work with this person. The assessment of character traits is no less important than the assessment of professional qualities, because it depends on the personality traits of the designer how fruitful his cooperation with the customer will be.
