Diploma, work record, seniority - these concepts are traditionally considered fundamental when it comes to employment and other details related to the payment of pensions, benefits, etc. However, in connection with the regularly changing legislation and new reforms, many people are already beginning to think about why they need diplomas, calculating the length of service or work books. Moreover, the first has practically depreciated, the second is not official for all, and about the third, there are regular talks about cancellation.
In Soviet times, these are three concepts: diploma, work record book and seniority were literally inextricably linked. Today they no longer carry such a sacred value, but they are still in demand. And this is despite the fact that many will not even be able to explain why they need a marketing degree when they work as cleaners.
Diplomas lost their value when study turned into a paid process, because anyone could get it not for knowledge. Labor books and seniority are irrelevant due to the fact that the majority of the population works unofficially.
Diploma
A diploma is a document certifying that you have graduated from a higher education institution and are a specialist in a particular field. Earlier, getting a diploma was a matter of honor. He pointed out that in front of you is a person who is competent, intelligent and well versed in the subject.
Today a diploma is rather a tribute to fashion. After all, most of today's students study simply because it is necessary. As a result, universities often leave specialists who will never work by profession.
There are also exceptions. Many government agencies send their older employees to receive a diploma, even though the person has been working here for many years.
A diploma is valuable only if you clearly understand why you need it and study very responsibly.
Employment history
Today, work books are called a relic of the Soviet past, and more and more people hear talk that they are not particularly needed. After all, the new pension reform focuses more on deductions from a person's salary, and not on his seniority. But this is not a reason to believe that work books have outlived theirs.
In fact, the work book is the main document certifying a person's labor activity. She has a rich history, because a work book appeared in 1938. The Trudoviks characterize this document as follows: a kind of work biography of a person, which reflects his education, qualifications, career growth and attitude to work.
On the basis of work books, the amount of various social payments is determined: pensions, benefits, and the amount of official salaries is established. The work book is handed over to the personnel department when hiring and returned to the person when he is fired.
Seniority
Work experience is a rather vague value. From an official point of view, work experience is an official job when there are all the necessary entries and notes in the work book. However, due to the development of the market and the transition to an unofficial work schedule, many of the experience becomes unofficial, i.e. experience is being gained, but there are no records of this anywhere.
Work experience is divided into several types:
- insurance;
- general;
- special;
- continuous.
Each of them has its own characteristics. And each of them serves very specific purposes. Work experience is necessary in cases where the issue of assigning a person various payments: pensions, benefits, increased wages, etc. is being decided.
