Obtaining a foreign passport requires the presentation of a number of documents to the Federal Migration Service. Moreover, in some cases, this may include a work book.
Obtaining a foreign passport is a certain procedure fixed by a special normative legal act - the Administrative Regulations for the provision of state services by the Federal Migration Service for the registration and issuance of foreign passports to citizens of the Russian Federation.
Documents required to obtain a passport
This regulation establishes not only the procedure for issuing foreign passports to citizens of the Russian Federation, but also the list of documents that they must submit to the Federal Migration Service in order to obtain them. So, in general, this list includes the following items:
- application for the issuance of a foreign passport;
- a general civil passport proving the identity of the applicant;
- a receipt confirming the fact of payment of the duty for the provision of public services;
- photographs that meet the established requirements.
In some cases, this list can be changed. So, for example, when issuing a passport of a new type with an electronic carrier of information, many territorial branches of the FMS today independently take photographs of the applicant, so the photo in this case does not need to be provided. But if you apply for a new passport before the old one has expired, the latter will also need to be submitted to the FMS.
All of the above positions are transferred to the territorial body of the FMS and remain with the employee until. This, however, does not apply to a civil passport: it will only need to be presented for identification at the time of application.
Labor book when obtaining a passport
The specified list of documents is valid for working adults who are not military personnel and are not subject to conscription: the latter categories of citizens will have to present a number of additional documents.
The requirement to present additional documents applies to non-working citizens as well. The fact is that the established application form for the issuance of a foreign passport includes a section on the citizen's labor activity, which is certified by the seal and signature of the employer. If the citizen is not currently working, obviously, there will be no one to assure this section. In this regard, non-working citizens, in order to obtain a passport, must provide an original work book or an extract from it, which can confirm the nature of his labor activity over the past 10 years.
