Tens of thousands of events take place in the world every day - phenomena, the occurrence of which does not depend on the will of man. The legal sciences contain special provisions on events and their role in human life and activities.

What is an event from a legal point of view

An event is a legal fact leading to the emergence of a legal relationship. Events can be natural, natural phenomena that occur against the will of a person. In this case, we are talking about floods, earthquakes and other natural disasters that occur through no fault of people. According to the law, a person cannot be brought to any of the types of legal liability if he has committed an unlawful act without personal intent, but under the influence of external factors. For example, these situations include eating groceries from a store in which people have been locked for a long time due to an earthquake in the city.

Events are also natural phenomena such as birth or death. It is impossible to take any law enforcement measures against a person who has died by his own death. Thus, if, for example, a person passed away without paying a loan to the bank, no sanctions are applied, including to his immediate family. The outcome of this situation will be regulated in accordance with the terms of the contract that the person entered into with the institution during his lifetime.

All types of Russian legislation, including civil, criminal, administrative, labor and others, provide for the impact of events on law enforcement activities. Therefore, for a specific type of event, the most favorable outcome is provided, in which the rights and freedoms of a person as a person who is involved in a situation beyond his control would be infringed.

Civil, family and other types of law also provide for other eventual situations, for example, pregnancy and childbirth, illness, death of close relatives and others. A person who finds himself in such situations has the right to temporarily leave his office and other duties for a period specified by law, so that events do not disrupt the natural course of law enforcement.

Thus, the main feature of an event is its involuntary nature, and we are not talking about the cause that caused it, but about the process of the event's impact on specific legal relations. Another sign is temporary: any event has its beginning and (most often) end, in connection with which event situations are interpreted as models of interaction between a person and natural, natural conditions.
