For a long time, the teaching profession has been considered one of the most dignified, noble and respected in society. However, at present, the prestige of the teaching profession has long since fallen. Low salaries, constant checks, sometimes outright rudeness on the part of students - all this makes the teaching profession difficult and ungrateful. And yet there is something in her that encourages every day to rush to school, brings joy and moral satisfaction. So what is more in the teaching profession: pros or cons?
Cons of the teaching profession
To begin with, you should highlight the obvious disadvantages of the profession.
First of all, working at school is stressful. It requires a huge expenditure of mental strength. In addition, the teacher bears personal responsibility for the life and health of each student.
At home, after the end of the working day, the teacher is also unlikely to be able to rest. He needs to prepare for lessons and extracurricular activities, check notebooks, work with the class teacher's documentation, etc.
In addition, educational institutions constantly conduct checks, including attending lessons and studying documentation. Moreover, it is checked by the teachers and the school administration, and all kinds of commissions from the education administration, obrnadzor, etc.
And the students are very different. It is easy to work with smart, diligent, well-bred children, but often you come across lazy, ill-mannered, from whom you can expect rudeness, and sometimes even outright provocation.
Despite all the talk about a teacher's salary increase, it is still paltry. At the same time, in order to somehow survive, the teacher has to take a very large load, being at school literally from morning to late evening. And in preparation for lessons, class hours and other events, the teacher also has to invest his own funds.
Indisputable advantages
It would seem, with so many disadvantages, it is strange that someone else remains in the profession. However, the teaching profession has undeniable advantages.
The teaching profession is rather a vocation. If a teacher sincerely loves children and his subject, he can realize his creative abilities, transfer his knowledge and skills to students.
At work, the teacher is never bored. Every day he communicates with students. As you know, all children are different, and communication with them can be interesting, and sometimes even funny.
The very work of a teacher is very specific. He does not need to "incubate" a dull eight-hour day. Every minute for him is filled with activity, emotions, communication.
Most educational institutions are budgetary organizations. Therefore, despite the low level of income, the teacher has a number of social guarantees: timely payment of wages, paid leave, sick leave, the possibility of distance learning at a university, etc. In addition, teachers' leave is always in the summer, and it lasts almost 2 months.
And, of course, the most important thing is the gratitude of the students. If a teacher works by vocation, sincerely loves children, then they, as a rule, reciprocate. After graduating from school, they remember their beloved teacher all their lives, considering him part of the most carefree and happiest time in their lives. And, perhaps, this main and huge plus can atone for all the disadvantages of the teaching profession.
