In accordance with Russian law, a woman has the right to be granted parental leave until the child reaches the age of 3 years. This vacation can be roughly divided into two parts: paid and unpaid.

Instructions

Step 1

Until the baby is 1.5 years old, the mother or other family member caring for the child is entitled to benefits from the Social Insurance Fund. This vacation can be used in parts or in full. The father of the child can go into it, even if the marriage between the parents is not registered. The second part of the leave involves the receipt by the mother only of a compensation payment from the employer (about 50 rubles). However, from the legal point of view, this is a single vacation, during which the employee retains his position and place of work.

Step 2

The start of parental leave for a child under 3 years old is the day following the end of the maternity leave. In this case, a woman needs to write an application to the employer about the granting of leave for up to 1, 5 years and the calculation of benefits.

Step 3

If you want to take a vacation up to 3 years, then you should write two applications. One of them - on the accrual of benefits until the child reaches 1, 5 years old - must be sent to the accounting department, the second - on the provision of leave - to the personnel department. In both cases, it is necessary to provide a birth certificate of the child, as well as a certificate from the place of work of the second parent stating that the specified allowance was not accrued to him, and leave was not provided. If the family already has children, then in order to calculate the allowance, you must submit birth certificates for all children.

Step 4

The mother or other person caring for the child until the child reaches 3 years of age has the right to take part-time work or work from home. At the same time, the allowance paid before the child is 1, 5 years old remains in the same amount. If a woman goes to work full time, then the payment of benefits will stop.

Step 5

Remember that parental leave is counted in the total length of service, as well as in the length of service in the specialty, except in cases of granting a preferential pension and seniority pension. However, the time while the employee was on parental leave is not included in the length of service, which gives the right to receive annual paid leave.
