Step 1
Gather the package of documents required to take parental leave. The necessary papers include a birth certificate, as well as a certificate from the other parent's work that he does not take such leave.
Step 2
Write an application for a vacation. A sample or form for such a document can be obtained from the HR department of your organization. In the application, indicate the period for which you want to take a vacation - in this case, until the child reaches one and a half years. The end of the maternity leave can be selected as the first day of the vacation. In the same text, write down your request for compensation payments. In addition to the employee's name, the child's full name and date of birth should also be indicated.
Step 3
Wait for your employer to issue a vacation order. After that, you will be charged the payments provided by law for parents of children under one and a half years old.

Please note that while on vacation, you can continue to work, but only part-time. In this case, you will retain the right to additional payments. If you and your employer choose a similar path, you should submit an additional paper on the transfer of you to a part-time job at the same time as the vacation application.
