Most often, the first personal contact with the candidate is carried out by telephone. In this case, the caller introduces himself (last name, first name, if accepted in the company, then patronymic, position (optional), company name), informs him that he is calling about the resume that he sent for the vacancy, and suggests the time and place of the meeting. it will not be superfluous to inquire whether it is convenient for the interlocutor to speak at the moment. If not, specify a more comfortable time for communication and who will call: you or the candidate.

If the corporate standard does not require the meeting to take place at a specific time (which is not very reasonable), it is better to be ready for discussion and have several options in stock. Or invite the interlocutor to appoint the time and place of the meeting himself.

Step 3

If it is necessary to conduct a preliminary telephone interview in order to decide whether to call for an interview (many positions involve intensive communication on the phone, so the impressions of contact with this method of communication can be important), do not rush to invite for an interview.

First, ask the necessary questions. If the answers and impressions are enough to make a positive decision on the spot, end the conversation by inviting you to a meeting and discussing when it might take place; if not (for example, you need to compare with other applicants), do not delay calling the one you choose: it might decide that didn't fit and accept another offer.

If you cannot contact the candidate by phone, try alternative means of communication: e-mail, skype and others, depending on which of them are proposed by the candidate and are most convenient for you.

If a telephone conversation is essential, suggest that the candidate call you back or tell you a convenient time when he can answer your call.

You can also use any communication method that is most convenient for you from among those proposed by the candidate, only provide the same information that is transmitted orally when you call, by test in an e-mail or message through a messenger program or by voice through Skype and a similar program.
