Citizenship is one of the most important legal institutions. In fact, it is a set of mutual rights and obligations of a person and a state. As a citizen of any country, you not only receive protection and patronage, but also bear mutual responsibility.
Instructions
Step 1
According to the Federal Law "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation" No. 62-FZ of May 31, 2002, there are several grounds for obtaining citizenship in Russia:
1) by birth;
2) obtaining citizenship in the usual way;
3) obtaining citizenship in a simplified manner. Thus, first you need to decide which category you belong to.
Step 2
A child is recognized as a citizen of the Russian Federation if:
1) both parents (or one parent) are Russian citizens;
2) the child was born on the territory of the Russian Federation, the child's parents are not citizens of Russia, and the child was not given the right to become a citizen of the country to which his parents belong;
3) the parents did not appear for the child within six months after the discovery.
Step 3
Obtaining citizenship in the usual (general) procedure. 1. You must be a citizen of another state or be a stateless person. Be over 18 years of age.
2. It is necessary to obtain a residence permit at any branch of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation and reside in Russia continuously for five years. The law allows you to travel abroad for no more than three months during the year. You must also be registered as a resident of the Russian Federation. The period of residence with a residence permit can be reduced to one year, if you have been granted political asylum, you have special services to the Russian Federation, or you are a refugee.
3. You are also required to comply with the Constitution and other regulations of the Russian Federation.
4. Must have a legitimate source of income.
5. Are obliged to know Russian as the official language of the Russian Federation. If all conditions are met, you need to submit an application to the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation. Step 4
Obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation in a simplified manner. 1. You must be a foreign citizen or stateless person over the age of 18. And you can also (at least one point must be met):
a) have at least one parent who lives on the territory of Russia;
b) reside in the territory of the former USSR, without having received the citizenship of these states;
c) to receive secondary vocational education after July 1, 2002 in educational institutions on the territory of the Russian Federation, being a citizen of the states that were part of the USSR;
d) be born on the territory of the RSFSR and have the citizenship of the former USSR;
e) reside on the territory of Russia and be married for at least three years;
f) be incapacitated, for example, due to disability, and have adult capable children who have citizenship of the Russian Federation;
g) have a child - a citizen, if the other parent of this child, also a citizen of Russia, has died or is recognized as missing, incapacitated or disabled, deprived of parental rights or restricted in parental rights;
h) you have children over the age of 18 who are recognized as incapacitated or disabled, if the other parent is dead or is recognized as missing, incapacitated or disabled, deprived of parental rights or limited in parental rights;
i) you are a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. You can also use the opportunity to obtain citizenship in a simplified manner if you are a citizen of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan or Belarus. You need to apply at diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Russian Federation abroad, or at the Federal Migration Service in Russia by writing a statement of the established form. Step 5
The procedure for considering applications for admission to the citizenship of the Russian Federation has been shortened and is three months from the date of submission of all the necessary and properly executed documents.
