Instructions
Step 1
Children are automatically recognized as citizens of the Russian Federation if both parents are Russian citizens.
Step 2
A child can also be recognized as a citizen of Russia at birth on its territory if he is denied the citizenship of the country to which his parents belong. In addition, if a child was born on the territory of Russia, and his parents are unknown or have been deprived of parental rights, he will also be considered a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Step 3
If only one of the parents is a citizen of Russia, it is necessary to submit to the Federal Migration Service an application of the established form (in 2 copies) demanding recognition of the citizenship of a minor child. Attach to the application:
1. Civil passports of both parents. If at the time one of the parents has died, you must provide the original or a copy of the death certificate.
2. Child's birth certificate or passport if the child has reached the age of 14.
3. A document confirming that the child lives on the territory of the Russian Federation.
4. Consent of a child from 14 to 18 years old to obtain citizenship. The consent must be notarized.
5. Two photographs 3x4 cm.
6. Consent of the second parent, who is a foreign citizen. The consent must be notarized.
7. Receipt for payment of the state fee.
Step 4
If the child's citizenship is accepted at the same time as one of the parents who is not a citizen of Russia, it is necessary to write an application to the FMS of Russia The application must be accompanied by:
1. Birth certificate, as well as a copy. The copy must be certified by a notary.
2. A copy of the residence permit of the non-Russian citizen parent, where the child must be registered.
3. Certificate of payment of utilities for the child.
4. Passport of a non-Russian parent.
5. Two photographs 3x4 cm.
6. Consent of a child from 14 to 18 years old to obtain citizenship. The consent must be notarized.
7. Receipt for payment of the state fee.
