Who doesn't want to rush along the river or sea surface with the breeze? Fulfilling their dream, many Russians buy or build on their own quite comfortable and high-speed boats. But immediately after the purchase or construction of the boat, the new owners are faced with the task of registering it.
Instructions
Step 1
With the purchase of a boat, you become its owner, but you do not acquire the right to sail on it. Before you can launch it into the water and enjoy the speed and fresh wind, you need to register the boat with GIMS - the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels.
Step 2
You must register the boat at your place of residence - that is, at the nearest GIMS branch of your region. Go to the State Inspection Service, take the form of receipt of payment of the duty - they will tell you exactly how much should be paid. Pay the duty at Sberbank and go to the State Inspection Service again.
Step 3
Your boat should be inspected by an inspector. You have two options: bring the boat to GIMS or bring the inspector to the place where the boat is stored. Calling an inspector costs about 500 rubles per hour. Before you call the inspector or bring the boat to the State Inspection Service, make sure you have all the necessary documents.
Step 4
You will need: documents for the boat, certifying your ownership - that is, the purchase and sale agreement. Technical passport for the boat and the propulsion system. Identity card and TIN. If your boat is homemade, you will need to provide receipts for the purchased materials.
Step 5
Considering that cashier receipts fade quickly, store them in a sealed envelope in the refrigerator, or take sales receipts when purchasing materials. For a home-made boat, you will also need its drawing in three projections with a numbered indication of the main structural elements.
Step 6
While the inspector is inspecting your boat, you will write a statement. If your craft meets all the requirements, the inspector puts an inspection certificate and takes the necessary documents from you. You will be assigned a deadline when you can receive a ship ticket; usually you have to wait two to three weeks.
Step 7
After receiving the ship's ticket, you will only have to put the received registration numbers on the sides of the boat and equip it with security equipment in accordance with the requirements of the State Inspection Service. If you have the right to drive a boat, you can launch it and start enjoying all the pleasures of a boat ride. If you do not have a license, you will have to get them by enrolling in courses at the State Institute of Medical Inspection and passing the necessary theoretical and practical tests upon completion.
