Often novice journalists and copywriters are overcome by a difficult everyday question - how to write an interesting article so that they can read it with pleasure and recommend it to friends? At first glance, it seems that nothing but a writing talent is required here, and if it is absent from birth, then you will never be able to write excitingly. In reality, it is self-deception. To write a really bright, interesting article, you need to know certain techniques and rules.

Step 1

The very first thing to think about when planning an article is its topic. That is, what you want to tell people about. Topics can be relevant, touching the quick, important, funny, serious or philosophical. But whatever topic you choose, you need to remember that there can be only one topic in an article. It can be viewed from different positions, presented from one point of view or another, but the topic should be unique and definite. Otherwise, you get a meaningless vinaigrette of phrases.

Step 2

Having decided on the topic, start drawing up an article outline. Your plan should include the points that you want to convey to the world as points. Please note that an article can be descriptive, analytical, critical, or polemical in its form. The whole concept of its presentation is based on this. You will subsequently expand the theses formulated as points of the plan into full paragraphs that logically develop your thought.

Step 3

In order for the article to be easily read and understood, it should be broken down into short paragraphs of about 4-5 sentences each. Each paragraph contains a definite complete thought, logically related to the previous and subsequent paragraphs. Together, they should create a coherent impression.

Step 4

Once you have an outline of your article and your main message, you should come up with a suitable title. This is a very important point and you should pay special attention to it. It is the title that either draws the reader's attention to the text, or makes him pass by indifferently. Therefore, the title should be bright, precise and concise. In addition, it must be intriguing, catching attention and arousing interest. Writing good headlines is an art that cannot be learned overnight. But you can try this technique: write a dozen verb phrases in the active voice, reflecting the essence of the article, and choose the shortest and most energetic of them.

Step 5

After creating the headline, you must write an article lead. Lead - this is the first, main paragraph (announcement), which briefly reflects the main meaning of the article. A lead should not contain more than two or three sentences. It is on the basis of the content of the lead and the headline that the reader makes a decision about whether or not he should take the time to read the whole text. In other words, your lead should clearly and convincingly explain to the reader why he should read this article. It is very important that the lead evokes any kind of emotion: joy, irony, anxiety, delight. The essence of the emotion does not really matter. People with the same curiosity will read a story about something terrible or shocking, as well as something funny that makes you laugh. But they are guaranteed not to be interested in the text that makes them bored.
