A resume is self-promotion, a way to make you look at the applicant in the right light from the best side. To achieve the desired heights in business, you need to be able to use this weapon masterly.
Registration
Originality should not consist of spelling errors and incorrect filling of the main points of the document. On the contrary, you can impress the future employer with the knowledge of the basics of office work. For this:
- clearly in the nominative case, the full name is filled in;
- specifying contacts, notes are made: work, home, cell, e-mail, ICQ. The presence of Internet addresses will give weight to the applicant.
- different fonts are used (no more than two); italic, underline and bold;
- it is advisable to use Times New Roman or Arial fonts to fill out the resume;
- examples of work cannot be placed in the document. To do this, it is necessary and sufficient to write e-mail or real addresses where you can familiarize yourself with them.
Visual tricks
The resume should be beautiful. If it is not filled in in a special form, it is necessary to separate the different columns with single spaces. Each new paragraph should begin with the title of its subject. For example: "Hobby" or "Education". You can highlight areas of particular importance in bold, italic, or underline.
Do not cheat
It is necessary to determine in advance which aspects of biography, education and personal characteristics may interest the employer for this particular job. When describing your merits, you cannot cheat, but you can avoid publishing unwanted facts. You can also write about work experience if it was at least a little in related professions. For example, when you write a “plasterer-molar” in your work book, nothing prevents you from imagining yourself as an artist-designer or a mother who has raised three children, from writing that she has experience as a nanny.
Requirements
You should not go to the labor exchange with an outstretched hand. Understated requirements a priori do not inspire respect for the future employee. Your entire resume should be imbued with self-confidence, healthy self-esteem and self-respect. Before putting down the numbers that determine the desired salary, it is necessary to conduct exploration and determine the approximate prices for such work. Excessive requirements will also not attract recruits and employers.
Reading is not boring
You can't write polysyllabic sentences on your resume. Most likely, they will not be immediately understood, and they will not be re-read. Lists and tables are easy to read. They are used, for example, to list education and qualifications received. You cannot use general phrases. For example: "I want to get a good high-paying job." They should be clear and informative and contain specific information, supported by numbers if possible. If you want to show off your sense of humor (in some jobs this is encouraged), the applicant will have to put the joke in one sentence.
Any large amount of new knowledge is tiresome. If a person is interested in point information, he will gladly follow the link posted right there. Good self-promotion should be capacious, compact and fit on 1-2 sheets of printed text.
