The number of resumes sent by a candidate in search of a job can go up to hundreds, depending on the number of suitable vacancies and the response of employers. Moreover, each of them requires an individual approach. Otherwise, the chances to interest the employer, who, in turn, can consider hundreds of applicants, are sharply reduced.
Necessary
- - computer;
- - access to the Internet;
- - resume text;
- - contact addresses of employers.
Instructions
Step 1
The first thing to consider is that the word “send out” should not be taken literally and should not be used to spam your resume. First, it is unlikely that an e-mail address that a reputable company has posted publicly is not equipped with a spam filter. And it is unlikely that it will not work for a huge number of recipient addresses.
And the employer, seeing the abundance of addressees in the appropriate field of your letter, is unlikely to be flattered by your “attention” to his modest person.
Step 2
Take an individual approach when filling out the field for the topic. A banal "resume" looks much worse than "a resume for a vacancy …".
The second option indicates that at least you deigned to familiarize yourself with the name of the vacancy. This means that there is hope, as with the text. And in relation to him, a fair percentage of applicants give the impression that they have not really read. And this will be confirmed by almost everyone who at least once in his life was engaged in recruiting personnel.
Step 3
Do not place your resume in the body of the letter, unless the employer himself asks you in the job description (here again, about the benefits of carefully reading this text).
It is better to use the body for a cover letter: abroad it is simply an integral element of a job application, and even in our country a letter with a resume and an empty body has long been considered bad form.
Send your resume as an attached file.
Step 4
Speaking of the file. It’s not a good idea to just call it “resume”. Most of your competitors will do just that, creating big problems for the employer's HR department to preserve their investment. If the file is named with the same word, but in combination with your last name and job title, it has more chances of being appreciated.
And one more important point. It is better to attach the file first, after checking if everything is correct, if you forgot to reflect the latest information, etc., and only then write a cover letter and enter the address. Until there is an address, the letter will not leave without the most important component - the attachment.
Step 5
A cover letter template (or preferably several, especially if you are considering different vacancies at the same time) can be prepared in advance. This saves time. But be sure to edit it before each submission in the light of what you read in the vacancy text (and it will be useful to collect additional information about the company if its name is indicated). Here is the most appropriate place to immediately demonstrate this knowledge.
Just mentioning the name of the company and the name of the contact person, if known, will make a good impression.
Step 6
And here is the last step - pasting the email address in the required field and sending the letter.
And now all over again, but for a new vacancy.
