Antiques are not just pretty old things. This is a branch of business in which people can (and do) make some serious money. If you love antiques and understand them, then why not make money on it.
Instructions
Step 1
Take courses in antique art. For example, in Moscow there are several institutes and training centers that provide this opportunity. Of course, there are no budget places, training is exclusively paid, but by and large it is not a waste, but an investment, the same as in any other business.
In the course of training, you will learn to distinguish valuable items from counterfeits. And also "get acquainted" with really interesting antiques, you will understand that not every antique item is exclusive, etc.
Step 2
Find an appraiser job at an antique store or art gallery. Don't count on serious income at this stage of your career. But over time, you will gain two invaluable things: experience and reputation. As soon as your name becomes known in the professional environment, you can become a private appraiser.
Step 3
Save money. A smart businessman must plan his development.
As a rule, private appraisers have two areas of activity: appraisal itself and mediation. Some collectors know what item they want to buy, but don't know where. An antique dealer comes to their aid, who finds this thing and organizes a deal for a fee (10-25% of the deal). This is decent money, which is enough for life and for savings.
Step 4
Open your own online store. Thanks to your savings, you will be able to resell rare and sought-after items. The site needs to be made available to the whole world, therefore, initially it is necessary to make versions in English, French, German, Japanese and Chinese.
