According to the norms of business etiquette, insults, raising the voice, judgments with a pronounced negative assessment of a colleague's actions, his qualifications, and the results of his work are unacceptable. There is no place for profanity at all except in the smoking-room - and then as a link. In the Russian language there are enough means to express dissatisfaction in such a way that it will not seem to the guilty one, but at the same time remaining within the boundaries of ethics and mutual respect. And they act much more efficiently. The subordinate is not only obliged to comply with these norms, but also to require their superiors to comply with them. For those who adhere to this rule, the management treats with greater respect than both boors and those who are ready to resignedly endure the chef's rudeness.

A special case is when the boss gives an assignment, the implementation of which is not the direct responsibility of the employee. It all depends on the situation. In many small companies, all male employees do hard physical work that no one else can do. For example, rearrange the furniture in the office if necessary. In this case, to refuse - to slap the public taste of the entire team. If the boss participates in this on an equal basis with his subordinates, he commands more respect. But you cannot force him to do this, only as he decides. Another option is when an assignment allows you to expand your horizons, gives you experience with which you can rise a step higher in a professional and career plan. It is unwise to refuse here.

Is it worth risking your freedom for a salary that is always less than you would like? There are situations when the boss is a tyrant who does not want to reckon with employees. The best way out of them is to find another job with a different boss.

In the Russian divisions of Western companies, it is customary to refer to each other by "you" and by name. This applies both to the appeal of a superior to a subordinate, and vice versa. For many employees, this option is preferable, but there are also those for whom it is more comfortable to refer to the management as “you”. Usually, these people are met halfway. In Russian companies this practice also occurs. But more often a mutual "you" or appeal to "you" is used only from the side of the authorities to subordinates. In such cases, it is optimal to adhere to the norms adopted in a particular company.

A difficult situation when the boss is your friend. It’s not easy for the boss either. It is not uncommon for friendship to end there. A simple rule will help you not to become sworn enemies of your bosom friends: friendship is friendship, and service is service. Money does not pay for friendly feelings, but for work. To count on concessions to one person and to the other on increased zeal on the basis of friendship is not a companionable way.
