Recently, ordinary passports have been replaced by biometric passports with a built-in microchip containing a two-dimensional image of its owner. At the same time, the procedure for registration has practically not changed: it is necessary to collect a package of documents and submit them to the branch of the Federal Migration Service of Russia in your region.
Necessary
- - an application for the issuance of a new type of passport in 2 copies;
- - passport of a citizen of Russia;
- - receipt of payment of state duty;
- - 2 photos;
- - military ID or certificate from the military registration and enlistment office;
- - previously issued passports, which have not expired;
- - employment history.
Instructions
Step 1
Start collecting documents by filling out an application for the issuance of a new generation passport. Get the forms from the migration service or download them from the FMS of Russia website. Enter in the appropriate boxes your last name, first name, patronymic, gender, date and place of birth, place of residence, series and number of your passport, by whom and when it was issued.
Step 2
Provide information about your employment within the last 10 years, including the full names and legal addresses of the organizations. This information must be certified by the signature of the head of your company or the head of the personnel department and the seal. If the application form lacks a column to cover all workplaces and movements, fill out an application indicating the missing information.
Step 3
Make notes in the application that there are no obstacles to your travel abroad: conscription, evasion of payment of alimony, loans, taxes, initiation of a criminal case or a conviction against you, etc.
Step 4
Please note that the application can be completed either by hand in block letters in blue or black ink, or electronically by printing it on 1 reverse sheet. Anyway, make 2 copies. Do not allow corrections and blots, as well as do not use all sorts of strokes and correctors.
Step 5
Pay the state fee for issuing a biometric passport in the amount of RUB 2,500. Take 2 black and white photographs 35 x 45 mm, full face without headgear. However, if your religious beliefs do not allow you to appear in society with your head bare, you can take a picture in a headdress that does not hide the oval of your face.
Step 6
Contact the territorial office of the Federal Migration Service with the following documents:
- an application for the issuance of a new type of passport in 2 copies;
- passport of a citizen of Russia;
- receipt of payment of state duty;
- 2 photos;
- military ID or certificate from the military registration and enlistment office;
- previously issued passports, which have not expired;
- employment history.
Step 7
In addition, you can fill out an application for the production of a biometric passport on the Unified portal of public services. Prepare all the documents listed above, a file with a digital photograph for a passport, enter the necessary information into the system and send an application to the migration service.
