According to Article 17 of Chapter II of the "Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan", any foreign citizen or stateless person can be accepted into the citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan at his own request, regardless of nationality and race, origin, language, education, gender, as well as political, religious and other beliefs.

Step 1
However, the adoption of citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan requires the fulfillment of certain conditions:
1) renunciation of the citizenship of another state;
2) permanent residence in Uzbekistan for the past five years. This condition does not apply to persons who have expressed a desire to become a citizen of Uzbekistan, as well as those who were born and proved that at least one of the parents, grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the Republic and is not a citizen of another state;
3) the person applying for citizenship has legal sources of livelihood;
4) adoption and implementation of the Constitution of Uzbekistan.
Step 2
However, if you are one of those who have high achievements in the field of culture, science and technology or outstanding services to the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as have a profession or qualification that is of interest to the Republic, it will be somewhat easier to obtain Uzbek citizenship. The above cases can be recognized as exceptional and, according to the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, points 1, 2 and 3 may not be taken into account.
