Instructions
Step 1
Write an application in the prescribed form in duplicate addressed to the head of the local department of the Federal Migration Service (passport office).
Step 2
Prepare the required documents and attach them to your application. If a child was born after 2002-01-07, a simplified procedure for obtaining citizenship is provided for him. You will need copies of the parents' passports and the child's birth certificate. If the specialist does not have any claims to the documents, the mark of citizenship will be put immediately upon contacting the FMS.
Step 3
In case the child was born earlier than this date, in addition to the specified documents, it is necessary to attach a certificate of registration of the parents for 1992-06-02. The certificate is issued by the local self-government body on the basis of house records.
Step 4
If at the moment the registration is different from the one where the parents are registered on the specified date, make a written request to the state agency at the former place of residence. If possible, it is best to contact this institution in person, as it takes much longer to process and respond to a written request than in person.
Step 5
In the event that the second parent is a foreigner, his written consent will be required for the child to obtain Russian citizenship. Notarize the signature on the application, in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Migration Service.
Step 6
If the child has reached the age of 14, attach his written consent to obtain citizenship.
