Many schoolchildren at the age of 14 begin to think for the first time about ways to earn some pocket money. And summer is the time when working for a teenager can be a great way to earn money without sacrificing school.
Instructions
Step 1
Before choosing a job, read article 63 of the Labor Code. It says that at the age of 14, it is possible to conclude an employment contract only with the consent of one of the parents (guardian or trustee) for light work in their free time from school.
Step 2
The most popular job among teenagers is the job of a promoter. Its essence lies in the distribution of flyers (leaflets) or participation in various promotions. In the first case, you need to stand next to the metro or in a shopping center and hand out leaflets. In the second case, you will need to advertise certain products and advise buyers. To participate in promotions related to food, you must have a medical record. The benefits of such work include flexible working hours, as well as hourly wages, which are usually done on a daily or weekly basis. You can find promoter jobs by looking at job advertisements in print publications or on the internet.
Step 3
Another possible form of income for 14-year-olds is posting ads. Often this kind of work can be found in the area where you live, because many companies need pasting machines - for example, real estate agencies. Advertisements should be posted on special information stands at the entrances or laid out in mailboxes. Piecework wages, free schedule. This work can take about 2-3 hours per day. After posting, you will need to make a report: how many ads are pasted and in what places.
Step 4
Working as a courier is suitable for teenagers who know the city well and are well-versed in it. Another requirement for this specialist is mobility, because the courier's task is to deliver this or that product (documents) on time. It is best to start your job search in your area. You can also get a job as a courier for an ad in some print publication - for example, a free advertising newspaper.
Step 5
Another option for teenagers is a fast food chain - for example, McDonald's or Bistro. Such establishments gladly accept young people into their company. Without any problems, they are hired there from the age of 16, but sometimes (as an exception) they can take it earlier - from the age of 14. These businesses can provide jobs for 14-year-olds such as dishwasher, janitor, or flyer distributor. The fast food chain provides favorable conditions for its employees: official employment, flexible hours, decent wages, work in a friendly team, etc.
Step 6
You can also find work on the Internet. For 14-year-olds, this can be testing computer games, performing clicks, viewing and registering on various sites, writing comments on forums (posting). There are other types of remote work: writing texts (copywriting and rewriting), design services (web projects, creating banners and advertising images), programming, etc.
Step 7
To find a job at age 14, you can contact the Employment Center in your area or the Youth Employment Center. You will be advised on labor law issues, help in choosing a profession and employment. You may be offered ecological or light agricultural work, landscaping and other types. In this case, you will be guaranteed the conclusion of an employment contract and payment of wages.
Step 8
At the beginning of summer, job centers hold job fairs with job stands for schoolchildren. In addition, a festive youth campaign is held annually especially for applicants from 14 to 18 years old: "Tomorrow is a working life!" Several thousand vacancies, consultations of lawyers and psychologists, as well as a festive concert, contests and a drawing of prizes await the participants of this event.
