Step 1
Prepare a portfolio This is the most important thing for any designer. When you get a job in any organization for the position of a designer, in the first place they will look not at your age, diploma and work experience in other companies, but at your work itself. You should not show everything that you managed to do during your practice. Add only the best to your portfolio. Do not overdo it. Too large a set of examples is tiring, although it shouldn't be too small either. Ideally, examples should be 2-3 for each of the programs you have mastered, or at least 7, but no more than 15 if we are talking about one or two programs.
Step 2
Make a Resume The beginning is little different from usual. Write your full name, age, place of study, graduated or not, if yes, when. Specify the time to study these programs. Do not lie on this point. If, for example, you write that you have been doing animation and animation for 3 years, but in reality only a year, you may not be taken, having seen far from perfect products of your creativity. However, if the firm found out that you were able to achieve such results in just one year, seeing such potential, they would definitely hire you.
Step 3
Be sure to write that you are ready to learn new programs for you. For example, if you have been studying 3d modeling for several years, and you know 3ds max and Maya perfectly, get ready for a small surprise - very few Russian companies use these two, undoubtedly, the most advanced and functional programs due to their high cost. However, it will not be difficult for you in two weeks to thoroughly understand the simple and cheap Google sketchup program, which is so popular among design bureaus.
