In the Russian Federation, there are certain rules for recording the movements of citizens of the country. Every citizen is obliged to have registration - at the place of stay or at the place of residence. Let's figure it out together what it is and how to register. Instructions

Step 1

There are two types of registration: at the place of residence and at the place of stay. Let's consider the first case.

Step 2

Registration at the place of residence is made if a citizen of the Russian Federation temporarily does not reside at the main place of residence for more than 90 days. In this case, you must contact the territorial body of the Federal Migration Service and provide the following documents: passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, application of the registrant, document giving grounds for the residence of this person (rental agreement or statement of the owner of the home). The documents are accepted by the official responsible for the registration of citizens. The responsible official then submits the documents to the higher authority within 3 days. The territorial body of the FMS makes a decision on registration also within 3 days.

Step 3

Registration at the place of residence is carried out in the event of a change in the place of residence. The place of residence of a citizen is the place where the citizen resides permanently as an owner, under a contract of employment or social employment or on other grounds provided for by law. To register at the place of residence, you must contact the officials responsible for the registration of citizens and provide the following documents:

If the housing is in personal ownership: the applicant's passport, the passport of the apartment owner, a document establishing the ownership of the living space, a certificate of registration of ownership, the consent of other homeowners (if any).

Step 4

If the housing is provided under a social tenancy agreement: the applicant's passport, the passport of the responsible tenant, the written consent of other family members, the consent of the landlord (the relevant government agency in charge of the provided housing), if another person (not spouses, children or parents) is moving in.

Step 5

Further, the already described procedure for the transfer of documents by an official to the local authority of the FMS is repeated. Within 3 days, registration is carried out at the place of residence, in other words, a corresponding mark is put in the passport.
