Instructions
Step 1
The main parts of the presentation:
- introduction (15% of the time);
- the main part (75% of the time);
- conclusion (10% of the time).
Step 2
Introductory structure
Use the three tell method:
- tell the audience what you are going to tell them about;
- actually tell;
- tell me what you have already said.
Therefore, in the introduction, tell me what you are going to talk about.
For the structure of the introduction, the following scheme is perfect:
1. grab the attention of the audience;
2. tell me why you need to listen;
3. name the topic;
4. confirm the importance of your idea;
5. set goals.
Step 3
Main body structure
1. Situation. Tell us what is the current situation in the area you are considering.
2. Negative consequences. Determine the consequences that can occur if the necessary action is not taken.
3. The key question. Highlight the main idea, for the promotion of which the communication takes place.
4. Offer. Expand the essence of your idea.
5. Positive results. Describe what will be the benefits of implementing your project.
6. Action plan. Formulate the first steps to implement your idea.
Step 4
In conclusion, repeat the main points, repeat the main bundles: needs-benefits. End your presentation on a positive note, your last phrase is what stays in the memory of the audience. Thank the audience.
Step 5
One of the main points in preparation for a presentation is its design.
For the title of the material (slide, handout), use the main idea that you want to convey to the audience. The slide title should answer the question "What does the speaker want to say?" Formulate it as a statement.
Use the universal visual rules.
- do not allow unnecessary words;
- make no more than 15 lines in one slide;
- use bold, italic, underline meaningfully;
- shootouts or text tables should cover only one topic;
- do not use only capital letters;
- make the spacing between lines sufficient for readability of the text.
