Step 1
Contact the nearest FMS office for a passport application form. Although this form can now be found on the Internet and printed.
Step 2
Prepare a package of documents that is required for obtaining a passport. This package includes:
- application for the issuance of a passport. This application has the established form of the form (No. 1P). This form can be completed either manually or by typing.
- your birth certificate. If there is none, then you should contact the registry office at your place of birth for a duplicate.
- black-and-white or color photos of established sizes (if in cm, then 3, 5x4, 5) in the amount of 2 pcs. The image in the photo must be clear, without a headgear.

Step 3
Check the working hours of the FMS department that accepts applications for obtaining a Russian passport. Choose a time convenient for you and, with a prepared package of documents, come to the FMS department, where you need to submit the documents to an authorized employee.
Step 4
After 10 days or within the time period indicated by the FMS employee, go to the FMS office again to receive a ready-made Russian passport.
