In case of theft, damage or loss associated with other circumstances, the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation can be restored. To do this, you should contact the territorial body of the Federal Migration Service with the necessary package of documents.

Instructions
Step 1
If you have lost your passport or suspect that it has been stolen from you, contact the law enforcement agencies with a statement. Indicate when, where and under what circumstances the document went missing. You will need this in case fraudsters use your passport. You will have an official certificate confirming the fact of the loss (instructions approved by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation No. 985 dated 1.12.05.).
Step 2
To obtain a new passport, you will have to contact the territorial migration service, to which you need to submit: - an application for replacing the passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation in the established form No. 1P (to be filled in on the spot); - a certificate from law enforcement agencies about the loss; - 4 photographs of the established sample for passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation measuring 35x45 cm in black and white or color (if you wear glasses, be sure to take pictures in them, but glasses must be without tinted glasses); - a receipt confirming payment of the state duty in the amount of 500 rubles.
Step 3
When applying for a change of passport at the place of residence, the processing time will not exceed 10 calendar days from the date of submission of documents. When applying for a passport in another city or region, the replacement period can be two months. For this period, you may be given a temporary identity document. This period is necessary for a complete verification of the data you submitted.
Step 4
To affix additional marks in your passport, present: - birth certificates of all your children under 14 years old; - military ID (if you are a conscript, in draft age or in reserve); - certificate of registration at the place of residence; - marriage certificate or divorce.
Step 5
If the data in the file of the Federal Directorate of the Migration Service of the Russian Federation is lost, you may be asked for additional documents: - birth certificate; - certificate from the registry office; - certificate confirming the citizenship of the Russian Federation.
