Step 1
If an error was made in the design of the title page of the work book, then the incorrect entry should be crossed out, and the correct information should be entered above it. After that, on the inside of the cover of the work book, we make the following entry: for example, "Ivanov's surname is corrected to Petrov on the basis of passport data or marriage certificate series _ № _ from such and such a day, month, year." Next, we indicate the surname and initials of the person responsible for keeping work books. We must certify this entry with the official seal. The same applies to other information about the owner of the work book - name, age, education. We fix all this and make an entry on the cover of the work book in a similar way.

If an error is made in the entry in the column "Information about the work": translation, assignment of a qualification category, renaming of the enterprise, in no case do we cross it out, as many ignorant personnel do, making an incorrect entry below: "believe corrected", and put a stamp seal.
Step 3
How to do it correctly: below the incorrect entry, we make a new, but already correct entry. We put down the next serial number of the new entry, we enter the correct information in the columns "date", "information about the work", "on the basis of which the entry was made (document, its date and number). If these changes relate to the resignation record, then we draw up a new record accordingly: we put the signature of the personnel service employee and certify it with the official seal.
