There is a mutual agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan that citizens of these states can have dual citizenship - both Russian and Kyrgyz.

Step 1
The agreement between Russia and Kyrgyzstan greatly simplifies the procedure for obtaining a second citizenship. You don't have to give up the main one if you want to get the second one. Remember that having two citizenships, you will not be able to become in the future the President of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, a deputy, a judge, a law enforcement officer, or hold positions of responsibility in the executive branch.
Step 2
To obtain Kyrgyz citizenship, you must continuously reside in the republic for five years, know the Kyrgyz language in an amount sufficient for communication, and have a source of livelihood. Remember that continuous residence means leaving the republic for a period of no more than three months a year. The period of permanent residence in the territory of the republic is reduced by law to three years if you are in a registered marriage with a citizen of the republic, invest in priority sectors of the Kyrgyz economy, or your scientific, cultural or professional activities are in demand in this country.
Step 3
In the internal affairs bodies at the place of residence or diplomatic mission, fill out an application form in the prescribed form. Write a statement addressed to the President of the Republic. Along with the application form, provide the original and copies of identity documents, two photographs, a receipt for payment of the state duty, a document confirming the existence of a source of livelihood. It can be a certificate of income, work book, pension certificate, certificate from the place of work. Also documentally confirm continuous residence on the territory of the republic (residence permit, registration mark) and knowledge of the state language. The general term for consideration of applications for obtaining Kyrgyz citizenship is up to 90 days in the general procedure and 30 days in the simplified one.
