In order to confirm their compliance with the legislation, documents are legalized. Simply put, you need to collect signatures confirming the legality of your document in the country where you received it.

Step 1
If your country and the country you are entering are parties to the 1961 Hague Convention, then the legalization of documents will consist in affixing a special quadrangular stamp on them - Apostille, which certifies the authenticity of the signature, seal and stamp of the document. Apostille has the right to affix the bodies designated for this by the state. In Russia, these are the justice authorities, civil registry offices, archival authorities, the administration of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation, etc.
Step 2
But if the country of arrival or departure is not a member of the 1961 Hague Convention, then the legalization process becomes more complicated. In order to legalize documents for leaving Russia abroad,
make a translation of the document and a copy of it. Notarize them with signature and seal.
Step 3
Submit the documents to the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in Moscow for certification of the signature and seal of the notary.
Step 4
Visit the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, where they will confirm the authenticity of the seal of the Ministry of Justice and the signature of its official.
Step 5
Visit the Consular Section of the country you are going to visit in Moscow, where the consul, on the basis of the samples of the authenticity of the signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the seal, will certify your document. Only after that the documents you need will be accepted for production in the country of departure. When entering Russia, the legalization of documents must be carried out in the country from which you came.
