The success of athletes in sports depends on the activities of the coach. He sets you up for success, believes, supports, inspires and does not allow you to fall into despair. Athletes who have got to the right coaches throughout their lives maintain faith in their own strengths, which allows them to achieve results in other areas of life: business, relationships, education, etc.

Coaching outside of sports

However, coaches are not limited to sports. Today, coaches are met in almost all areas of business. Their main task is to make sure that a person can achieve the set goal. Moreover, the result must be obtained using the best means. The coach deals with goal decomposition, planning and creation of an effective strategy.

Often, coaches require full accountability and adherence to certain principles from their charges. Coaching is expensive, so the coaches bear a great deal of responsibility for the outcome. Therefore, it is necessary to clearly track the achievement process and not let the ward relax.

In the biographies of successful people, you can often find references to mentors who helped them achieve the desired result. But you don't have to resort to the services of a paid coach, sometimes parents or teachers can be trainers. It all depends on the motivation of a particular person, the amount of free time and the goals set.

In Western business culture, the term "coaching" is usually understood as one of the ways of self-development. Strong personalities try to become even stronger. They set incredibly difficult goals and try to achieve them at any cost. In Russia, this is also developed, but not so much.

Coaching process

Typically, the coaching process consists of four main stages:

Stage 1. Goal setting. At this step, it is determined what exactly the ward wants to achieve. A person is not always able to independently understand what kind of results he needs. In addition, the coach can set the goal correctly, taking into account all the necessary criteria.

Stage 2. Reality analysis. An assessment is made of what stage the ward is at. What abilities he possesses, what works best, what points should be improved and how much money will be needed to achieve the goal.

Stage 3. Consideration of possible options. A map or route for further movement is created. The ward is offered the optimal paths, from which he must choose the most suitable one.

Stage 4. Decision making and control. After choosing a suitable model, the action begins. The coach monitors the achievement process, gives advice and recommendations, and also helps to cope with laziness and apathy.
