The calculation of maternity benefits is determined on the basis of Federal Law of December 29, 2006 N 255-FZ. On January 1, 2011, Federal Law No. 343-FZ of December 8, 2010 came into effect on amendments governing the procedure for calculating benefits. Maternity leave lasts 140 days (if there was a difficult birth, the leave increases to 156 days, if two or more children were born, it increases to 194 days). Maternity benefits are paid in total. They do not depend on the length of service and the number of days that you used before giving birth.

Step 1
For registration of the allowance, contact the certificate of temporary disability at the place of work.
Step 2
Calculate your earnings for the last two calendar years. If during this time the place of work was changed, then you need to get certificates of average earnings from all previous places.
Step 3
If it is not possible to collect certificates, submit a request to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation about the wages accrued to you.
Step 4
Calculate the average daily earnings - divide the sum of all salaries by 730. (According to the law, the maximum daily earnings for calculating benefits cannot exceed 1136.98 rubles).
Step 5
Multiply this amount by the number of days of maternity leave. This amount should not exceed the amount of 159,177.2 rubles.
