Temporary disability benefit is most often referred to as "sick leave" and provides for the payment of days during which an employee was treated. This period must be paid without fail, despite the absence of the employee at the workplace.
Instructions
Step 1
Calculate the amount of payments, including salaries and bonuses with insurance contributions accrued on them to the Social Insurance Fund of the Russian Federation. As the term for determining payments, you need to take the last 12 calendar months preceding the moment of the onset of the period of temporary disability.
Step 2
Find out the average daily earnings of the person who will receive sick leave benefits. Divide the total payments for the last 12 months by the number of business days that fall within this accounting period.
Step 3
Determine how much benefit should be paid for each of the days the employee missed due to his disability. To do this, you need to multiply the average daily earnings by the amount of the benefit expressed as a percentage. The amount of the benefit is influenced by various criteria, for example, seniority, as well as the reasons for leaving the sick leave, certain characteristics of the disease and its treatment.
Step 4
Match your daily allowance to the maximum amount you can afford. If the daily allowance that you have calculated does not exceed the maximum amount, the sick leave benefit must be paid at the daily average.
Step 5
Calculate the total amount of benefits paid by multiplying the amount of the daily benefit by the number of calendar days that the employee will receive inpatient or home treatment. To determine the length of the maximum period paid by the employer, refer to the sixth and tenth articles of Federal Law No. 255. Please note that the calculation of temporary disability benefits must be made only if the employee has a sick leave. Be sure to ask for it at the onset of the billing period and make sure you fill it out correctly.
