In accordance with Federal Law 224 and Article 220 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, all citizens have the right to receive a property tax deduction. This can be done within three years from the date of purchase of real estate by bank transfer, when the taxpayer is exempted from paying taxes until the required amount is collected or the money is received into your account.

It is necessary

  • - declaration;
  • - TIN;
  • - income statement;
  • - documents for the acquired property;
  • - passport;
  • - current account number.

Instructions

Step 1

If you are not currently employed but previously paid taxes, then you are eligible for a cash tax deduction. The paid amount of taxes will be transferred to your checking account.

Step 2

To get a deduction, contact the tax office of your area, present your passport and TIN. Fill out the 3-NDFL form declaration. You will also need to present a 2-NDFL certificate from the previous place of work, documents for the acquired real estate: a certificate of ownership of a house, apartment or land plot; sale and purchase agreement with the specified amount of the transaction; payment documents that prove your payment for the purchase. These can be bank checks, a seller's receipt, money orders from your account, etc. Since you are currently not working, you cannot be exempted from paying taxes, so present your current account to transfer funds to it.

Step 3

If you have previously worked and have already been deducted the required amount of money for a tax refund, then you can receive the statutory refund amount, which is calculated from the amount of 2 million. If you paid more for the property, then the tax will not be refunded from the remaining amount. That is, the maximum property deduction is 260 thousand rubles. If you were deducted from you during the working period as income tax, then you will receive only what you have already paid.

Step 4

Cash is transferred no earlier than 12 months from the date of purchase and no later than three years, so contact the tax office after the specified period.

Step 5

After reviewing your documents, the tax office will decide on the return of income tax, of which you will be notified in writing. The funds will be credited to your account within 1 month from the date of notification.
