The difficulty of finding a full-time translator is that experienced and competent specialists often prefer to work outside the state - for several serious customers on a free schedule. A separate difficulty is testing his professional skills. After all, there may not be a specialist who speaks the working languages at the proper level in the company.
Instructions
Step 1
Post a job posting on specialized job search sites. Along with these, specialized resources for members of this profession can be effective. For example, the site "City of translators", which provides a section for vacancies, including staff. Clearly state the requirements for a translator, subject matter, terms of reference, provide information on essential working conditions. Don't forget to leave your coordinates.
Step 2
Study the resume of candidates who will definitely apply for the vacancy. Choose those whom you consider most worthy, contact them and invite them for an interview.
Step 3
At the same time, monitor the resumes of translators who are actively looking for work. Invite those of them who will interest you the most for interviews.
Step 4
Interview candidates. Keep in mind that it is always useful to have a pool - several potentially most suitable candidates for each open position. Therefore, try to have at least two people in stock to whom you would be ready to propose.
Step 5
Ask candidates for references from previous employers or client testimonials. Many translators put them into their online portfolios themselves. Contact referees, if possible, talk to them. This will allow not only to check the candidate's recommendations, but also to obtain additional information about him.
Step 6
If possible, arrange a test for each candidate - ask them to translate. It is best if you have a specialist on staff who is qualified to evaluate applicants for the translator's position. But if you don't have one, you can turn to any translation agency for help. This service is paid but will cost less than hiring a knowingly inappropriate specialist.
Step 7
Contact the candidate whom you consider the most suitable, and agree with him about the next steps: when he should be registered in the state and start working.
