Why is it that two employees are in the office for the same amount of time, neither one is distracted by extraneous things, but they manage to do a different amount of work? Because one of them scatters their attention, while the other managed to structure the workflow. Competent planning of working hours is one of the keys to a successful and efficient working day.
Instructions
Step 1
Form work blocks in which you will perform similar tasks. As you know, work is hard to start. Reluctantly sitting down for the first task, you get involved, and things go much faster. Therefore, put projects and tasks into folders and start doing similar ones. For receiving visitors or employees, if you are the boss, it is also better to set aside your office hours so that you are not constantly distracted from working with papers.
Step 2
If there is a lot of work and it requires your full attention, allow yourself to arrange off-hours. Transfer the phone to colleagues or a secretary, send visitors to your deputy. Do not hesitate to close yourself in your office from everyone and completely go into an urgent project.
Step 3
Often the duration of a project is directly related to the time allocated for it. If the bosses do not rush you to complete the task, you can independently regulate the time frame in which the project must be completed. Thus, your work will go much faster than if you work slowly day after day.
Step 4
Prioritize correctly. There are things that need to be done urgently, there are those that can wait. There are also things that do not have to be done at all, as well as things that can be delegated to subordinates. To organize effective work, it is advisable to start the morning with those tasks that are assigned priority number one. However, if you are a workaholic, make sure to include food and sleep in your plan.
Step 5
It is easy for people to work when they immediately see the result of their activities. So, a person who chops wood can see how the woodpile decreases and its reserves for the winter increase. Working on a large project, you can easily lose interest in it, since the result is foreseen only in the distant future. Therefore, devote a couple of hours of your working time to such a project, and then move on to the implementation of small projects that will bring you results right now.
