Migration today is, if not massive, then at least continuous in nature. The border is crossed by immigrants, guest workers, tourists and those who visit relatives outside their native state. That is why entry into and exit from the Russian Federation is controlled by four federal services at once, despite the fact that the rules for migrants are the same. In some cases, crossing the border is completely possible only with an entry permit.

Step 1
The procedure for leaving and entering the Russian Federation is established by the Federal Law of July 18, 1996. If you are a foreign citizen or stateless person, you must present documents confirming your identity when entering and leaving the Russian Federation. If you are applying to enter the Russian Federation to carry out labor activities, then you can be issued a visa on one condition, if you have a permit from the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation, issued in accordance with the established procedure by the Government of the Russian Federation.
Step 2
You can enter and leave the Russian Federation upon presentation of a visa based on legally binding documents that prove your identity, and if you are a stateless person - according to documents issued by the competent authorities of the state of your residence. If you have received a residence permit, you can enter and leave the Russian Federation on its basis, and in the event that you are recognized as refugees, you can enter and leave on the basis of a refugee travel document.
Step 3
If a decision was made against you about administrative expulsion from the territory of the Russian Federation or deportation, then you are leaving the Russian Federation on the basis of this document.
Step 4
Depending on the purpose of your trip to the Russian Federation for entry, you may be issued a visa, which can be of the following types: diplomatic, service, transit, etc. A visa is an entry permit issued by a competent authority and for transit travel through the territory of Russia according to documents confirming your identity and valid on the territory of the Russian Federation. It contains the following details: surname, name, which are written in the letters of the Russian and Latin alphabets; Date of Birth; floor; citizenship; number of the main document confirming your identity; date of issuance of the visa, its validity period, also the number of times; the permitted period of stay on the territory of the Russian Federation, etc.
Step 5
If you are a foreign citizen or stateless person, then upon entering the Russian Federation you are required to fill out a migration card, according to which foreign citizens are registered at the place of stay. You hand over your migration card at the checkpoint across the state border of Russia at your entry. If you violate a number of rules established by law, or do not leave the territory of the Russian Federation on time, then you are subject to deportation.
