Step 1

The procedure for issuing a residence permit was approved by the RF Government Decree of November 1, 2002 No. 794. According to this legislative act, a citizen of Ukraine must register his stay in Russia at the post office within 3 working days. Such registration is done for 90 days, after which it is necessary to register for migration at the district office of the Federal Migration Service, where a temporary residence permit is issued to a citizen of another state.

Step 2

A residence permit can be obtained only after a year from the date of obtaining a temporary residence permit and obtaining temporary registration. The term of temporary registration is determined by law and for citizens of foreign states, including Ukraine, is 3 years. You can get temporary registration at the district department of registration of citizens. This requires the consent of the homeowners, their documents and documents for housing.

Step 3

A prerequisite for applying for a residence permit is that at the time of filing the application, the validity of the passport of another state should not expire in less than six months. The fact is that an application for temporary residence is considered for about 6 months. By the time you receive it, you should have a valid document in your hands.

Step 4

Upon receipt of a residence permit, a seal is put on the document proving the identity of a foreign citizen “For foreign documents, certified by the signature of an official. These marks confirm the issuance of a residence permit. It is a separate identity document with an indication of the validity period. When issuing a residence permit, the temporary residence permit is withdrawn.
