Surely many people at home have expensive things or appliances that were bought spontaneously or donated, and "lay" on the shelf. There is no reason to return - there is no marriage, the size, the list of options correspond to the technical characteristics. In fact, the law provides for the opportunity to return a product that did not fit in any way or just don’t like it. How to do it?
How to return a good quality product
The law on the protection of consumer rights of the Russian Federation includes not only the rules for the return of defective goods, but also of quality ones. It even provides a clear explanation of which product is considered to be in compliance with the quality rules and which is not.
Within two weeks, excluding the day of purchase, you have the right to contact the store where it was purchased, with a request to return it. Strong arguments can be:
- mismatch of dimensions (dimensions) with your expectations,
- features of style, colors, if it is clothes,
- lack of the option you need (household appliances).
The store has the right to refuse your request if the product has clear signs that it has been actively exploited. Perfect option:
- you have a purchase receipt and a valid reason to return it,
- the manufacturer's and seller's tags are preserved on the product,
- the original (marketable) appearance is preserved,
- the packaging is not damaged, the equipment has not changed (household appliances).
Return policy - do no harm
You can return a product that you do not like only to the outlet where you bought it. Attempts to do this in another store of the same chain will not be successful, even if you still have a receipt.
Another important point is not to be aggressive. You have every right to a return, the seller knows about it. And the fact that he carefully examines the goods, checks its quality or completeness, means only one thing - he is doing his job.
After the inspection, you will be asked to fill out an application form, where you will need to indicate your details and explain the reason for refusing to purchase. In most cases, if all the rules are followed, the procedure takes no more than 15 minutes.
Not all retail outlets will be ready to return your money at the time of contact. This does not contradict the law, so it is pointless to argue. The delay can be caused by:
- lack of cash at the checkout (if it is early morning),
- the need to obtain permission from a management or administrator who is not on site,
- the policy of interaction with the buyer in effect in a particular retail chain.
If you have not been refunded the money on the day of contact, you have the right to demand the indication of a specific date or period, which the store must confirm in writing. The issued document will become your guarantee that you have returned the product, but did not receive the money paid for it upon purchase.
Be careful when choosing clothes or equipment - this will save you the trouble of wasting time returning it.
