Those lucky ones who have already received the coveted pass to a foreign country know that it is the visa application form that is most difficult for visa applicants to cope with. This document contains information about the applicant, travel details and any previously issued visas. All information is carefully checked, corrections and errors are simply unacceptable. The embassy of each country puts forward its own requirements for the design of the visa application, down to the color of the pen paste and the size of the letters. However, there are some general rules for applying for a visa.

Step 1
For example, it is not necessary to indicate a middle name. Enter only the first and last name, for example, Ivan Ivanov. Please note that the spelling of the first and last name in the application form must match the one written in the foreign passport. Please note that some questionnaires may contain columns in which you need to indicate your first name, last name and patronymic in your native language.
Step 2
If you were born before 1992, write “USSR” in the “Country of birth” column.
Step 3
Do not fill in the columns with information about the parents if they are no longer alive. This rule also applies to data on children.
Step 4
Write legibly, in block letters, the Latin alphabet.
Consider the transliteration rules.
The questionnaire is filled in from left to right, write the letters in the appropriate boxes.
If you need to select any of the items in the questionnaire, mark the desired option with a cross.
Step 5
Usually, the visa application form is filled in with black or blue paste, check this with the embassy in advance. However, never use red paste!
Step 6
When filling out the questionnaire, indicate the address without commas in the following sequence: apartment number, house number, street, building. For example, in English the address will look like this: Apt. 124 56 Lenina Street bld.1. However, some embassies, such as Australia, require you to separate these addresses with a hyphen.
Step 7
Many countries, such as the Schengen countries and the United States, offer applicants to fill out the application form electronically, online, right at the embassy. Do not be alarmed, there is an embassy employee nearby who will answer your questions. The time to fill out the questionnaire is usually given no more than 20 minutes.
