Step 1
Contact the tax office of the place of residence of the person you are interested in. Step 2

According to the personal data of an individual, you will receive his personal digital code, consisting of 12 Arabic numerals, in which the first digits mean the subject of the Russian Federation where the citizen permanently resides. The next two are the number of the tax office that issued the TIN, the next 6 are the individual code, which is individual for each payer and means the serial number of tax records. Also, the last two check digits are not repeated, which can be used to verify the authenticity of the TIN.
Step 4
If you are interested in the code of an individual entrepreneur, then it will be the same as that of an individual, if the entrepreneur has not expressed a personal desire to change the code for the duration of his activity. The numbers in the IP code are the same as for individuals.
Step 5
You will be given a 10-digit legal entity code. As usual, the first two are the number of the tax inspectorate that issued the document, the next five are the serial number of the record in the USRN, the last two are control ones.
Step 6
The code of a legal entity that operates on the territory of the Russian Federation, but has foreign citizenship, begins with the number 9909, the next five digits are the company code, and two control ones for checking the authenticity of the TIN.

You can find out the identification code of an individual by looking at the 18th page of your passport. On this page, at the request of the taxpayer, all information about the TIN is entered.
