Step 1
If you are an ordinary citizen who is an individual, contact your local tax office. Write your application on the form provided. Present a general civil passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation. After 5 days, you will be given a TIN. Your individual taxpayer code will be twelve Arabic numerals. The first digits mean your constituent entity of the Russian Federation in which you live, the next two - the individual number of the regional tax inspectorate that issued the document, then there are 6 digits of your individual code under the tax record number, these numbers are never repeated and are strictly an individual number. The last two digits are the control record for verifying the authenticity of the document.
Step 2
If you have registered as an individual entrepreneur, then immediately after completing the documents you must receive an individual taxpayer code. Show your passport, fill out the application. You will be given a TIN, which will be valid for the entire period of your business and will change to the number of an individual if you cease to be an entrepreneur or to a number of a legal entity if you re-register your business and register as a legal entity.
Step 3
To obtain the TIN of a legal entity, apply to register an enterprise with the tax office at your place of residence or at the address of the organization. You will be simultaneously registered as an enterprise and given a 10-digit legal entity identification code. The first two digits will indicate the code of the district or interregional inspection, the next five - the USRN number. The last two are control ones for verifying the authenticity of the document.
Step 4
If you receive a code of a foreign legal entity on the territory of the Russian Federation, then it will always start with the number 9909, then there will be five digits of the individual code of your company, the last two digits, as always, control ones for verifying the authenticity of the document.
