Issuing a work permit in the Russian Federation for foreigners who do not need a visa to enter Russia became much easier in 2007. Now, after entering the country, they can themselves apply to the FMS authorities with a set of necessary papers and, after 10 days, receive the required document.

Step 1
However, you will have to start with a different procedure - migration registration. To do this, you will need to find housing, the owners of which will agree to put a foreigner on the migration register at their address. The easiest way is if they are your friends or relatives.
If you are renting a property, the landlords may not agree to this. Although in large cities there are good enough chances of finding an apartment, with the owner of which such a problem will not arise.
The owner of the apartment must provide his passport, if necessary with a notarized translation into Russian, and a migration card.
Step 2
As soon as you have in your hands a migration card with a mark on registration for migration registration, you can contact the same department of the FMS in which you were put on this registration.
In addition to your passport and migration card, you must provide a receipt for payment of the state duty (2 thousand rubles, you can pay at any branch of Sberbank, take the details on the website of the regional department of the Federal Migration Service or directly in the territorial division where you are applying for a permit).
If everything is in order with your papers, within 10 days you will receive a work permit valid for the entire subject of the Federation in which it was issued.
Step 3
However, this is not all. Within 30 days after receiving a work permit, you must undergo a medical examination. To do this, you will have to bypass three dispensaries: narcological, dermatovenerological and tuberculosis. The addresses of these establishments will prompt you in the territorial division of the FMS.
The services of doctors for issuing a certificate for a work permit are paid, the time for receiving foreigners on this issue may be limited. It is better to check the reception hours and the cost of services in specific dispensaries.
If you do not submit this certificate to the FMS in due time, your work permit will be canceled.
