This degree of responsibility is very different for everyone. If a subordinate risks, in the worst case, only his workplace, then the owner or manager of the enterprise - with his rather large means and reputation. The greater the degree of responsibility, the more a person has the right to demand from those who obey him. No matter how happy you are with your boss, no matter how stupid you think him, it is he who is responsible for his decisions, even if they seem irrational to you. It is your duty, in accordance with your official chain of command, to fulfill them unquestioningly. The only thing you can afford is to try to explain your point of view to your boss and warn him as a professional and specialist. This is your direct responsibility, but the decision and responsibility for it is still he. No enterprise management is simply impossible without respecting the chain of command. It is on it that the horizontal and especially the vertical of power is built. Subordination is a tool for implementing management decisions and bringing them from the head of the enterprise to the very last subordinate. With the help of the subordination established by the staffing table and job descriptions, each performer, starting with deputy directors, knows who his immediate manager is and whose orders he must follow. Subordination allows you to raise the status of leaders and their authority, and, consequently, the performance discipline. Subordination determines the status of a person, regardless of his personal qualities and proximity to his superiors. This is a fair system of setting up authorities according to the position held. And the principle of fair distribution has always been one of the main ones that increase the motivation of personnel. The strictness of compliance with the law of subordination can vary depending on the structure, profile and size of the organization. In a small company engaged in, for example, selling or providing services, the manager may well allow even to replace a sick employee with himself and will do this without prejudice to his authority and power. In a large enterprise, it is impossible to imagine that a manager would stand at the machine instead of a sick worker. In this case, his authority can be significantly shaken. But the degree of responsibility, including material responsibility, is different for these managers. In any case, subordination should be respected as a method and way of managing an enterprise, and each person must strictly adhere to it.
