When changing registration at the place of residence, there are two options for going through the necessary formalities. You can first deregister at the old address and register with a new one. But it is enough to contact the house administration or the Federal Migration Service only at the new place of residence.

Step 1

If you chose the first option, you need to come to the passport office of the house administration or the FMS department with a passport and fill out an application in the prescribed form and two copies of the departure sheet. One of them will remain with the FMS, the second with you, and you will have to attach it to the package of documents when registering at the place of residence at a new address.

You should be issued a passport with a mark on deregistration in three days.

Step 2

You can get the application form for registration at the place of residence at the new address at the FMS, house management, download on the website of any regional department of the FMS or the portal of public services. On the latter, it is also available for filling online.

If you are not discharged from your previous address, fill out the appropriate section. Otherwise, leave it blank.

Step 3

The basis for registration is a document confirming that you have ownership of housing or its provision by another owner (contract for free use of residential premises, application for the provision of housing, order for moving into municipal housing, social tenancy agreement, etc.). If you register in an apartment that you bought, received as a gift or by inheritance, first issue a certificate of state registration of ownership.

Step 4

Bring the full package of documents to the FMS department or the passport office of the house management.

If everything is in order with them, you will receive your passport with a mark of registration at the new address within 3 days.
