The procedure for hiring a driver is generally the same as for any other employee. However, if it is assumed that the driver will drive a car belonging to the company, in addition to the standard set of documents, it will not be superfluous to conclude a liability agreement with such an employee.

Step 1

Ask the future employee to write an application addressed to the head of your organization with a request to hire him as a driver. The document must contain the surname, name and patronymic of the employee. These documents are written at the top of the application, containing information about who and from whom it is addressed. The employee must date and sign under the application. It is advisable to impose on him a visa of the head of the organization or other authorized person, where it is indicated from what date to accept the applicant into the state.

Step 2

Print out the employment contract in duplicate. Be sure to reflect in it the terms of reference of the driver and his work schedule, as well as other essential working conditions: the rights and obligations of the employee and the employer, the social guarantees for the employee, the amount of wages and the procedure for issuing them, etc.

Step 3

Offer the employee to review and sign both copies of the employment contract. After they are signed by both parties, one copy is handed over to the employee, the other to the personnel department of your enterprise or another unit that is entrusted with the functions of maintaining personnel records.

Step 4

Draw up a liability agreement. To do this, use the standard form presented in Appendix No. 2 to the decree of December 31, 2002 N85 of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation. Fill it out, taking into account the specifics of the enterprise and the specifics of labor relations with the driver. Print the document in duplicate, both, as in the case of the employment contract, provide the driver for review and signature. Then, after signing by the employee and the employer, one copy is handed over to the driver, the second remains with your company.

Step 5

Prepare an order for hiring a driver to work. It must have a number and date of publication and contain the surname, name and patronymic of the employee, the position for which he is hired (driver), the date of commencement of labor relations and be signed by the head of the enterprise or his substitute and sealed. Include a job application as the basis.

Step 6

Take a work book from the driver and make a record of his employment in it. As a title, indicate the full and abbreviated name of your company (written in the column for information about the work). Then assign a sequence number to the record (next after the last record), indicate that the employee was hired as a driver, and in the last column - the name and output data (number and date) of the employment order. The work record book is legally kept by the employer and returned to the employee upon dismissal.
