Instructions
Step 1
If you find errors or inaccuracies in the passport you just received, please inform the authorized persons responsible for checking the information and issuing passports. You immediately, that is, they will immediately issue a new document. The delay in issuing a passport with correct information can only be caused by the fact that you do not have new photos to issue a document with accurate information. Unfortunately, you will be using your own funds to pay for new photos. The renewal of the passport itself will be completely free.
Step 2
If you find an error in your passport after some time, then contact the Federal Office of the Migration Service. Submit an application, present a passport with an erroneous entry, birth certificate, photographs. Your passport will be reissued within 10 days. You will not pay for renewal. Even if the error occurred as a result of an incorrectly completed application with information about yourself. Since the persons authorized and responsible for issuing passports are required to write out a document, relying on information in primary sources, that is, in a birth certificate and an old passport, and not on the information provided in the application.
Step 3
If an error in the passport appeared as a result of rewritten information from the birth certificate, then in fact this is an error in the birth certificate, and you need to change the original document with an erroneous entry, and only then apply to replace the passport with the correct information.
Step 4
To correct erroneous entries in the birth certificate, contact the registry office at your place of residence or at the place of registration of the fact of birth. Write a statement explaining the reason for replacing your birth certificate. This document changes within 1-2 months.
Step 5
After receiving a birth certificate with the correct entries, contact the FMS. Fill out an application to replace the passport with erroneous entries for a new document.
