You have a table into which you need to drive information from a barcode, for example, an air ticket. This barcode usually contains the airline code, form number and flight number.
Instructions
Step 1
You can enter various types of barcodes either manually or using a barcode scanner, which, of course, is much faster and more convenient. So, arm yourself with a scanner and get down to business, trying to avoid mistakes and miscalculations. Any handheld scanner will work for scanning a barcode, which is usually plugged into a keyboard connector. There are also wireless types of scanners, the coverage area of which sometimes reaches up to 100 m in diameter.
Step 2
First, you need to enter characters from the scanner. The fact is that usually the scanner transfers information in the form of symbols, approximately in the same way as if you were typing unknown characters on the keyboard. Accept characters in InputBox and cast them to string variable. When the InputBox returns you with a string missing any data, end the input procedure. This means that the data has been received.
Step 3
Next, you need to parse the resulting string. This can be done by highlighting information on such a parameter as the number of characters. For example, 2 characters should be allocated for the airline code, 6 characters should be left for the form number, and 4 characters will be enough for the flight number. Keep up the good work, allocating the right number of characters to different types of data.
Step 4
Now you just have to complete the most important point - enter the received data into the table. To do this, you need to arrange the data that you have previously selected in certain columns in a row. The data type must match the type of the column intended directly for this information. If you have entered something incorrectly, then press the "Cancel" button and re-enter.
Step 5
The first round of data entry is complete. Do not forget to increase the number of the input line by one and, taking the next barcode into work, start the sequence from the very beginning.
