Pension legislation provides for early retirement cases for people who started working early. According to the pension legislation, until 2018 inclusive, the right to early retirement pension was held by persons who had worked for at least 30 years. But from January 1, 2019, amendments to the pension legislation come into force.

Who is eligible for early retirement

From January 1, 2019, the right to an early retirement pension arises subject to the availability of work experience of 37 years for women and 42 years for men. Thus, people who started working at an early age can retire earlier.

In addition, until the beginning of 2019, there was a right to early retirement pension for citizens who worked for a certain number of years in the Far North. For women, the right to an early retirement pension arises if they have 15 years of work experience in the North and 20 years of total work experience, for men - 15 and 25 years, respectively.

From the beginning of 2019, citizens who worked in the Far North and have northern experience (15 years) will receive an early pension at 58 for women and 60 for men. But for women who have developed northern experience and have given birth to 2 or more children, the pension is due at the age of 50.

For medical workers and employees of the educational system (teachers), the special experience required to obtain the right to an early retirement pension ranges from 15 to 30 years, depending on the specific specialty of the citizen. If before 2019 they had the right to receive a pension immediately after earning a special period, then after 2019 they can exercise their right to early retirement taking into account the increase in the retirement age.

The legislation provides for 30 categories of citizens eligible for early retirement. Basically, these people are representatives of professions with difficult and especially difficult working conditions (drivers of buses, trams, trolley buses, locomotive drivers and others).

Separately, the conditions for early retirement for mothers with many children, the unemployed, the disabled and citizens raising disabled people have been agreed.

The minimum length of service required to receive a pension is 6 years. That is, if a citizen has such an experience, at the onset of retirement age (60 years for women and 65 years for men), he will be entitled to a minimum pension. By 2024, this minimum length of service will gradually increase to 15 years.

If there is no work experience at all, the pension will be accrued to women at 68 and men at 70.

Outcomes

Even after the amendments to the pension reform, starting from 2019 it is possible to retire early if you have 30 years of experience. To do this, it is necessary to have 15 years of “northern” work experience, or from 15 to 30 years of special work experience provided for certain categories of workers.

You can even retire with 6 years of experience. The main thing is that the retirement age has come. But in this case, the pension will also be minimal.
