On January 1, 2012, the amendments to the Tax Code of this country came into force in Ukraine. Some of them have a significant difference from the previously established and existing laws.
In accordance with the additions made to clause 52.3 of Article 52 of the Tax Code of Ukraine, they have the right to receive tax advice in writing, including in electronic form. Previously, this was done only orally.
Significant changes have affected tax rates in comparison with the legislation adopted in previous years. Thus, if the rate on profit in 2011 was 23%, then in 2012 it dropped to 21%. It is planned that in 2013 it will be 19%, and from 2014 there will be a decrease to 16%.
Also on January 1, 2012, a new local real estate tax was introduced. It must be paid by individuals and legal entities, including non-residents, who are the owners of real estate. The tax rate is set by the local council based on the number of square meters. If the area of the apartment is 121-240 sq. m., and houses from 215 to 500 sq. m., the wage will be 1% of the minimum wage. If the area of the apartment is more than 240 sq. m, and at home - more than 500 sq. m., then you will need to pay 2, 7% of the minimum wage. With an area of less than 120 sq. m. in an apartment and 250 sq. m in the house tax payment is not provided. There was an increase in the land tax by 3, 2 times.
Unlike the previous Tax Code of Ukraine, the new one does not provide for an increase in the tax rate for each employee.
There have also been changes in the tax accounting records of transactions involving the purchase of foreign currency. This mainly affected the definition of terms. Earlier, in article 153.1.4 of the Tax Code of Ukraine, it was stated that the difference between the exchange rate of foreign currency to the hryvnia at which the purchase of this currency was carried out and the rate at which the book value is determined should be attributed to the expenses or income of the taxpayer. Now this article states that the carrying amount of a currency is the value determined at the official exchange rate of the national currency to foreign currency at the date of the transaction or at the date of the balance sheet.
