Workers in many spheres have to be content with low wages. Moreover, the level of this salary often depends little on the talents of the employee himself, his attitude to business, education or experience.
The least paid areas in Russia are divided into two large areas: low-skilled labor and the public sector. It is for such employees that employers do not allocate large funds, and often they have to work because of vocation and on enthusiasm.
The low-paid professions in the public sector mainly include teaching positions; low salaries are also observed among scientific and medical staff. Teachers, kindergarten teachers, therapists, nurses do not receive the salaries that people in these professions deserve. Their incomes rarely even reach the average salaries in the country or city. Especially big problems with the level of wages and their growth are observed in rural areas. That is why there is a shortage of jobs in the field of budget-funded professions. In cities, teachers and medical workers are forced to earn extra money as tutors or distributors of drugs among the population. This is the only way they have the opportunity to receive a good income if the state does not have the opportunity to adequately pay for their work.
However, many other public sector employees receive very modest incomes. This also applies to low-ranking civil servants, and to researchers, and to historians, culturologists, art historians. The budget cannot allocate enough funds for people in those professions that do not produce anything, are engaged in science, culture and art. Perhaps this is a huge mistake, which will still cost the state huge funds in the future, when it will have to be content with foreign technologies and works of art instead of its own developments and masterpieces.
Among the least paid professions, positions of geographers, military personnel, social workers, clerks, and librarians are also noticeable. Interestingly, the salaries of workers in these areas can be comparable to the income of unskilled workers.
Traditionally, low-skilled work is considered to be low-paid. For example, workers, dishwashers, food workers, service personnel, plumbers, janitors, electricians, cleaners - they all receive relatively little. But this is not surprising: if an employee does not have deep knowledge in a specific area and a diploma of completing secondary or higher education, then he will not be able to perform highly qualified work and receive an income commensurate with it.
