It is not always easy for parents to decide which kindergarten employee to turn to for help or with a question about their child. Especially often the question arises, what is the responsibility of the assistant educator.
The teacher's assistant in day-to-day communication in kindergarten is called a nanny. As the title of this position suggests, the nanny should help the caregiver with his responsibilities - looking after the children. But what exactly is included in this concept?
Obligations of an assistant educator
The kindergarten assistant is the junior staff of the kindergarten, but it is the nanny who has the same contact with the children in the kindergarten as the teacher himself. The group usually has one nanny and two educators. From early in the morning, the assistant caregiver helps to take the children with their parents and undress them. Then he gets breakfast in the kitchen, brings it to the group, puts it on plates and sets the tables. After a meal, the nurse collects and washes the dishes, and makes sure that they are adequately disinfected. After classes with children, which are conducted by the teacher, the nanny helps to collect the children for a walk, dress them, monitor their safety and order when building a group. Sometimes she is present during the walk, but still more often the assistant educator has things to do in the group while the children are absent.
The nanny helps to undress the children after a walk, brings lunch and then dinner from the kitchen, feeds the children, then helps the teacher to undress and dress them before and after naps. Twice a day, the assistant teacher is obliged to carry out wet cleaning of the group - to wash the dust and wash the floors in the hallway, group, bedroom and other rooms. The nanny should tidy up the toys in the group and on the site, wash them after a walk, keep the group's inventory in order, report breakdowns and replace furniture or toys. Also, according to the schedule, the nanny conducts the airing and quartzing of the premises. The regime of disinfection and sanitization of the group is especially strictly observed during quarantine, therefore, the assistant educator must be aware of all sanitary standards.
The nanny obeys the teacher in everything and together with him helps the upbringing and education of children according to the rules adopted in the group: she explains to children how to sit at tables, how to eat and behave, how to lay out toys, set tables and make beds. The general rules and requirements in the group must be fulfilled together by its members. The nanny helps take the children to additional classes and picks them up after them, and also helps the teacher prepare for the classes in the group itself and puts things in order after them. The nanny monitors the cleanliness of children's bed linen and towels in the restroom and in the kitchen, changes them if necessary, but at least once every 10 days. She is also obliged to wash the windows in a group 2 times a year. If necessary, the nanny can replace sick caregivers or monitor the children during sleep, when the caregiver has affairs outside the group.
Responsibility of the caregiver assistant
The caregiver's assistant is with the children all day, looks after them and bears responsibility for them in the same way as the caregiver. In addition, the nanny is obliged to monitor the safety of the things and toys of her pupils and the equipment of the group. The nanny is obliged to know the safety precautions and follow them when dealing with children in matters of their lives and health. She is also responsible for the implementation of all the rules that are established for the assistant educator in a particular kindergarten.
